• Obtained an announcement in the Budget that, after initially being subject to the Climate Change Levy, electricity produced from methane from coal mines would be exempt.
• Several contentious parts of a judicial reform bill threatening judicial independence were withdrawn by the Government after a concerted lobbying campaign by court user bodies.
• Worked with a professional association to secure six amendments to a Housing Bill.
• A sustained information campaign by the European market leader in waste weighing systems has contributed to Ministers, after totally rejecting the idea of weighing waste for household collection, now piloting it.
• Helped secure an amendment to the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Bill ensuring adequate resources for dealing with stray dogs.
• After taking over the running of an All Party Parliamentary Group, 72 responses of interest were gained from MPs and Peers.
• After meetings with Ministers, the Secretary of State and at No. 10, many of the outcomes sought by a major energy company from the Energy Review were included in the proposals.

• Despite opposition from the local authority, a campaign to secure a public inquiry for a major planning application, backed by 27 local MPs, was successful.
• Secured a substantial increase in grant for a major charity by means of a widespread lobbying campaign, acknowledged by the Cabinet Minister concerned as particularly effective.
• Obtained statutory regulation for a professional group by a sustained, well planned campaign. Previously, the organisation had been trying to achieve this for 40 years.
• On implementation of a communications strategy, a controversial application by a power station to be allowed to burn petcoke met with minimal local opposition.
• From no previous lobbying activity, within just six weeks, a social housing organisation had held a presentation in the Commons supported by the Housing Minister and two Opposition spokespeople and over 46 MPs. As a result, an All Party Parliamentary Group was launched.
• Secured the placing of a product on NHS prescription, following a three year campaign on behalf of a medical charity.
• By first identifying and then advising on lobbying government agencies looking to relocate, hundreds of jobs were created by Government bodies moving to a northern city.
